FAQs and Commissions

Hi all! As usual, I am still alive and am active here on DA, even if my journals don't reflect that. I have gotten a few questions regarding my activity here on DA, as well as plans on my art. Here on my responses on a few of them:
Why did you fav all my nature pics??
I love nature photography and often use it as reference for my own nature-themed illustrations.
This does not mean I am planning on copying your work! Rather, my constant favoring of Deviations is a way for me to gather new inspiration. I may on occasion study a photograph to help correctly draw something, but I will never flat-out copy someone's work. However, if you do have a piece that your are willing to share as reference, or would like to see my illustrated interpretation of it, please send me a note and we'll talk.
Also - please don't flood my profile page with "thank you for faving" messages! I appreciate the sentiment, but I would prefer to leave that area for comments related to my gallery and profile. However, you will make me a very happy camper if you take a look at my stuff. That wold be the best way to thank me!
I don't see that much nature-themed art in your gallery. Why?
I actually have a pretty extensive portfolio of nature art. However, most of this art is done traditionally and I have yet to make quality scans of it. As a result, most of what you see is newer stuff. I do plan on posting a lot more, so please keep an eye out for it.
Are you still doing Fan Art?
Yes and no. I am still open to any fan art commissions and will prioritize them. However, as for my own stuff, I feel that I am growing out of the fan art-only world and would rather work on stocking up my portfolio on original works. And who knows, I may throw in a Borra or CCS piece now and then.
Are you available for commissions?
Totally! I am very flexible on doing commissions (both fan art and original) and have a reasonable rate. Please see my previous journal entry for pricing and details.

Been a While, Still Here

Hello all!
I just wanted to poke my head into DA and let you know that I am still alive and kicking. Also! I am super stoked about Korra Season 2 and am planning on making more fan art for that.
Just so ya know, I am always looking for commissions (especially since my full-time job may be discontinued ;_; ) and would love, love, LOVE to make pretty art for you. So, there it is.
A little plea, but I hope you know that either way I will still be a dork and make fan art.

Commission Pricing
For the commission piece, pricing depends on how much detail you want.
Sketch:
For a simple sketch, it is $5 per character. This will include a simple background and one color for the shading.
Example:
Simple Colored:
For a colored detailed piece with a simple background, it is $10 per character.
Example:
Complete Work:
For an all-out piece, which includes complete detail, and background work, it is $15 per character and $10 for the background. But the finished product will be given my full attention and focus.
Example:
Photo Manipulation or Restoration:
Pricing Depends on the size of the photograph and the amount of work involved to manipulate or clean it up. A standard size photograph with medium cleanup work is estimated to be $25.
An example of a photograph under this price range can be seen below:

-Photos desired for manipulation or restoration must be scanned and sent by e-mail only (send to hypercrabby@gmail.com).
- All payments through PayPal only, upfront (send to hypercrabby@gmail.com).

Commissions and Restoration

Hello all!
First of all, I would like to thank you all SO MUCH for providing me with commissions! I have been greatly enjoying the work and hope to have more in the future!
Second, I wanted to let people know that I am adding Photo Restoration and Manipulation to my commission options as well. ^_^
An example of my restoration work can be seen below in my examples. I consider myself pretty darn good and am quite affordable. Maybe your family has some old photos that are worth restoring (like for a cool Christmas gift)? Or maybe you finally were able to capture that perfect pose, but there was just one detail off (like, all the time in my own photos)? Let me give you a hand! ^o^
Otherwise, thanks everyone who has been following and commenting on my work! I always love getting feedback!
And naturally, more fan art and cute things to come!

I will continue to post art here as well, because DA makes me happy, but I also have a HUGE Tumblr addiction that only smexy Borra fan art can fulfill.
